The report has built a strong and lasting reputation as the industry benchmark for HNWIs market sizing — originally at a global and regional level but increasingly at a country level. The report includes three sections covering:
- HNWI market sizing and review of global economic drivers impacting HNWI behaviors
- Investing behaviors and asset allocation trends of HNWIs
- Key industry issues facing financial services institutions, financial advisors and HNWIs alike.
In 2006, the financial wealth of HNWIs worldwide has moved from US $33.3 trillion in 2005 to US $37.2 trillion in 2006, a growth rate of 11.4%. For the same period, we witnessed total number of HNWIs increase 8.3% from 8.7 million individuals in 2005 to 9.5 million in 2006. We also found the very richest individuals — the Ultra-HNWIs (those with more than US $30 million in financial assets) — continued to grow in 2006, increasing by 11.3% to 94,970.
The model currently covers 69 countries accounting for over 98% of global Gross National Income and 99% of world stock market capitalization.
