New guidelines on psychological care in emergencies

International humanitarian agencies have agreed on a new set of guidelines on the mental health and psychosocial needs of survivors of conflicts and disasters. The guidelines emphasize that protecting survivors’ mental health is the responsibility of all humanitarian agencies and workers, and not just of psychiatrists and psychologists.
