Euro area unemployment up to 7.9%

Summary: Euro area seasonally-adjusted unemployment stood at 7.9% in August 2006, compared to 7.8% in July. It was 8.5% in August 2005. The EU25 unemployment rate was 8.0% in August 2006, unchanged compared to July. It was 8.7% in August 2005.
