“The External Relations Directorate-General of the European Commission commissioned a poll on EU citizens’ awareness of countries neighbouring the EU and their attitudes towards EU relations with these countries. Interviews were conducted face-to-face in people’s homes, in their national language, between May 5 and June 11, 2006. The countries surveyed include the twenty-five Member States of the European Union, the two acceding countries (Bulgaria and Romania), two candidate countries (Croatia and Turkey) as well as the Turkish Cypriot Community (TCC).”
