Buoyed by a strong economy, more employers will be giving staff year-end gifts and bonuses this holiday season, and company-wide parties will remain widespread. At the same time, fewer employers will extend the holidays by granting three or more days of paid leave, continuing a long-term downward trend in paid time off at year’s end. Company participation in charitable giving during the December holidays has also receded in 2006 from record highs reported over the last two years.
